Thanks for your email. After the unexpected problems due to extreme weather at the beginning our trip went very well.
Emma Le Sauvage from Uniworld rang about 9.30pm on Tuesday 4th July informing us of the flight cancellation and organised new tickets for the new earlier flight. KLM didn’t contact us until much later that evening. Emma also telephoned us on Thursday 6th July checking we were all right. Mark also rang us on Thursday after noticing the change of flights to confirm we had arrived safely. It was appreciated.
We think Emma was a credit to Uniworld and our time on the River Empress was most enjoyable. To mark our Wedding Anniversary our cabin was decorated one evening with rose petals (not real), chocolates and enormous bow plus candles and a bottle of wine. A lovely surprise. The entire staff were very attentive and caring. Also Uniworld provided a taxi to return us to Schiphol airport for the altered flight home (which we were informed of well before we left).
We think Mark and yourself are a credit to Fred. Olsen and so helpful to a nervous traveller (Sue). Once again thanks for your help and we look forward to seeing you when we have reached a decision on our next holiday.
