I have been in travel for over 35 years, I started as a trainee for Davis World Travel in Portchester and then moved over to the Gosport Branch where I remained for 8 years. I have trained and travelled extensively over the years. I moved to Thomas Cook in 1998 where I worked in several branches as a Manager until 2013, I have now been at Solent World Travel for 10 years
The best thing I love about my job is meeting people and creating their dream holiday. The most satisfying part of my job is sharing the whole experience from when booking their trip and seeing them just before they travel, and hearing all about their experiences when they return.
My next place to visit is the Caribbean which we are doing on a cruise, love the idea of a different port everyday to discover.
I have holidayed in Malaysia twice and really do love this destination, the people are amazing and it is such good value for money. There is so much history and culture to see and could be put together with a stopover, I have been to Kuala Lumpur and then added a beach stay in Penang and Langkawi.. which is my favourite place
A Vietnam and Cambodia tour, visiting lots of cultural places, learning about their past and present history, as well as visiting temples ... which I would love to do. I would then like to just chill for a couple of days on a beach afterwards.
When we were children we holidayed most years in Swanage and Wareham, we loved the Sandy beach and running around Corfe Castle.
A good book, sunglasses and decent tea and coffee.
1) Always have a colour photocopy of your passport.
2) Book a Airport lounge so that you can relax and chill out after check-in.
3) Don't forget your suncream.
1) Research your ports of call before you go.
2) Choose the right cruise for you, be that the destinations or ship sizes, it is not a one fits all .
3) Make sure you look at all cuisine options open to you, in some cases there may be small supplement, but these are definitely worthwhile for a special occasion, or for a try of something different.
