Cruise lines are working hand in hand with federal governments and Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) to develop, implement and continually evolve industry-leading standards that will cover all aspects of onboard and shore side operations to ensure the continuous well-being of guests and crew.
Cruise lines have extensive experience providing for a clean and sanitised environment aboard cruise ships in their daily procedures, but as travel restrictions begin to be lifted, the cruise industry will adapt their processes and implement new ways to keep you safe on board.
EXTENSIVE PRE-EMBARKATION HEALTH SCREENING - All guests will undergo an extensive pre-embarkation health screening. Enhanced, staggered embarkation and check-in process for proper social distancing that also includes a new temperature screening process.
INCREASED SOCIAL DISTANCING - reduced shipboard guest capacity. Reduced seating in entertainment venues, smaller group sizes for shore excursions, culinary classes and onboard activities, along with increased spacing in dining venues, provide for effective social distancing practices.
ENHANCED MEDICAL TEAMS & HEALTH SERVICES – expansion of medical teams and enhanced onboard medical centres, with enhanced equipment. Gloves, face masks and small bottles of hand sanitiser will be readily available for each guest
CONTINUOUS SHIP-WIDE DISINFECTION - Cruise lines already have extensive experience providing for a clean and sanitised environment aboard cruise ships in their daily procedures, Ships will have new teams dedicated to ensuring communal areas are continually cleaned and disinfected
ALL NEW AIR FILTRATION SYSTEM – All air-conditioning filters are improved and upgraded, cleaned and disinfected.
FOOD SERVICE - kitchens will continue to uphold their usual high standards of hygiene and quality, but with more seating sessions for dining added with fewer people having their meals there at any time. Instead of self-service buffets, wait staff will serve food directly to you
EXCURSIONS AND TIME ASHORE – Cruise lines are partnering with local destinations and tour operators to ensure health and sanitation protocols extend to the shore side experience. With reduced numbers on shore excursions and new sanitation measures on tour buses, and in the places you visit
Safety and wellbeing are always the cruise lines’ priority, and they want to ensure that you have full peace of mind when they welcome you back on board.
