Helen Apps, Assistant Manager of our Bournemouth travel agents in store at Beales, got to experience a tour of Canada’s east coast with Prestige Holidays. Here’s a closer look at some of her highlights.
Destination: Canada
Operator/Host: Prestige Holidays
Airline: Air Canada
Accommodation
(Hotel names/Ship name): Le Centre Sheraton Montreal, PUR Quebec Hotel, Fairmont the Queen Elizabeth Hotel
Duration: 5 days
The Flight was very comfortable. We all sat in Economy and had small screens with head phones to watch movies or listen to music of our choice. The table had a cup holder and was easy to use. The food on the plane was good and we always had plenty to drink with good options.
The return flight was very good. I have never been in Business Class but we were welcomed on arrival and taken to our seat, where we were given a menu to choose our dinner. The TV screens were much bigger than Economy and came with headphones. Later in the evening, it was great to be able to turn the seat into a lovely, flat bed with a blanket and pillow provided.
Le Centre Sheraton Hotel has a wow factor. The lobby was spacious with a great atmosphere; the reception and bar were on the same floor with stairs leading down to the shop.
Our room had two double beds and an en-suite bathroom with views of Montreal city. Breakfast was brilliant and we could eat whatever we wanted.
PUR Hotel - Quebec
We stayed here for one night only. Again, we had two double beds and an en-suite. This is a smaller Hotel to the Sheaton – the breakfast was not as good though. It was quite small, but you could order amazing pancakes with bananas and syrup.
Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth
We stayed here for one night and this time we all had our own room. I had a double bed with an en-suite and bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash all personalized with my name on.
The hotel was refurbished just over a year ago and given a new, modern look. There are great facilities in the hotel, including their own shop leading out to the shopping area of Montreal.
• Montreal Observation Wheel
• Jazz Show
• Montmorency Falls
• Wendake (Huron-Wendat Nation Reserve)
• Walking food Tour
• Train ride (Business Class)
The whole experience of Montreal and Quebec was amazing. Montmorency Falls in Quebec was a great highlight, especially the chance to travel by cable car and get close enough to experience the full force of its beauty. Once at the top, you can walk over a long bridge and get some really good photos.
The whole trip was extremely educational. There was something for everyone to do.
You can choose to go shopping, explore the museums, take a walking tour, hire a bike, dine at restaurants of different national cuisines, enjoy the nightlife or simply relax with a glass of wine and watch the world go by.
Must see? Montmorency Falls
Must do? Wendake
Must try? Local food
